I have recently been doing some research and looking for a condo in downtown Toronto. I have also been looking at qualifying Realtors to see which one is the most knowledgeable. I found one that was totally web 2.0 savvy, and knew what he was talking about on his blogs – website etc. However, their lead screening method took me completely of their list and most probably lost a sure sale.
Let me show you what i am talking about:
I applied through their online form and gave everything except a phone number. (I am currently in Mexico so giving my phone number would have been useless)
What did they reply?
“hi Bruno
Thank you for visiting our web site at website.ca
Pls give us a call or leave your correct contact tel #
We have great news for you”
I proceeded on to explain that I was in Mexico City and I just needed some listings on x price range to have a look at what was available in the market. I was completely polite and courteous and explained my situation. i.e. Moving to Toronto in the near future.
What did they reply to this?
“without talking to you 1st, we prefer not to send you junk emails
will wait till you have a # for us to call, then we can go from there.
thanks”
