First of all lets see how wikipedia define a blog:

A blog (a portmanteau of web log) is a website where entries are written in chronological order and commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

What are the pro's and con's of real estate blogs:

Pro's

  • Free CMS (content management systems available)

  • CMS allows for immediate publishing of data (posts and pages) on to blog.

  • Easy to install.

  • Inexpensive

  • In general, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) friendly

  • Constantly updated (good for SEO)

  • Interactivity with prospective clients

  • Blog's have personalities unlike static web pages.

The domain plays a considerable role in the SEO of your website. For example, having high traffic keywords in your domain is generally positive and knowing the history of the domain you intend to purchase is also important.

Following are 10 important points to consider when buying your real estate domain.

  1. Keyword Rich? Does your domain have your targeted local real estate keywords in it? Such as New York Real Estate or New York Condos? Are they high traffic keywords? Use the free version of www.wordtracker.com to find out daily search statistics for your keywords/phrases.

  2. .com .us .ca .net ? A .com is what is most generally recommended. However, if you are outside the US, a local domain is generally recommended such as .ca .au .co.uk
